Our new in-person workshops – Make your own Slipkit just in time for Christmas!

A warm hello to all you fine folks from the Sheepers team!

As you know, the Knitting & Stitching show is one of London’s top craft fair where like-minded crafters come together to pick up new skills, exchange ideas, find inspiration, load up on annual supplies from their favourite brands and specialised vendors, and more – all from the convenience of one venue.

Well, we’re pleased to report that at the recent Knitting & Stitching gathering, both our workshops were fully sold out and in that spirit, we are launching new in-person workshops. Keep reading to find out what this means for you!

New in-person workshops, you say?

That’s right!

Following up on our success at the recent Knitting & Stitching event in London, we’re going to be organising workshops all over the UK to help you make your own Slipkit. These will be first launching in December, so that’s going to be lovely, just in time for Christmas!

But are you wondering what’s in it for you?

Here’s what you get:

  • A full Slipkit to help you get started.
  • The loveliest, most flattering mince pie and mulled wine to help you settle in.
  • In total, two hours of fun where you get to let loose, enjoy the company of other like-minded crafters, and explore the kit to your heart’s content.

Keep a lookout on our website as we will soon be launching a dedicated page to keep you posted. We hope to see you all there and can’t wait to meet you in person!

About the Sheepers Slipkits

Not to tweet our own horn but Sheepers has been a name synonymous with sheepskin slippers that are easily identifiable through their quality, comfort, and materials. However, we’re proud to be not your “average sheepskin slipper” maker.

One of the key aspects that makes us distinct from our makers of sheepskin products is that our dedicated Slipkit collection gives you a chance to choose your very own kit featuring a complete range of colours and designs. What better way to craft your own sheepskin slippers that speak effortlessly to your personal sense of style, eh?

These in-person workshops we are organising across different parts of the UK also offer a chance to recreate either the classic Sheepers style which is so loved and revered by our customers – or come up with your own personalised collection for a finish which truly defines your unique tastes.

Our sheepskin slipper craft kits have already been featured at Ally Pally (The People’s Palace), and with these fun in-person workshops, you can discover a wondrous journey which will take you through the process of crafting unique footwear styles.

As always, our ever-popular Moccasins will be on display at the workshops, and with access to your own Slipkit (a superb choice for beginner DIY crafters too), you can endlessly explore your skills at making incredibly unique handmade slippers.

All in all, it’s two hours’ worth of fun, excitement, insight, and mingling with other crafters (should you choose). Aside from the full Slipkit, you’ll savour an incredibly heavenly mince pie with mulled wine handpicked by our team. You really do not want to miss out on this!

What else do I get apart from the pie and wine?

Glad you asked!

For your convenience we have scheduled both half-day and full-day classes:

Half Day

Learn how to make a pair of sheepskin mule slippers. You’ll have all the materials handy, including a Sheepers needle you can take home as a keepsake. All our classes are very friendly, welcoming, and informal, so there’s going to be plenty of tea and biscuits going around!

This introductory class is a great way to dip your toes into the world of slipper making as you meet many like-minded individuals. To get more details, please look into our FAQ section.

Full Day

Ah, now this is where we get a little serious!

The full-day workshops will arm you with all the skills you need to make a nice pair of full black sheepskin moccasins. With lots of 1-2-1 help on hand throughout the day, you can easily learn how to make them.

An entire day’s session gives you the opportunity to learn the ropes (or threads in this case!) and experience the satisfaction of finishing a pair. We’d advise you to bring a packed meal with you for the day although the Slipkit materials will be provided to you at the start of the session.

Take a delightful Sheepskin needle home with you as a keepsake. For additional details, please refer to our FAQ section.
